How do courses work at Reach?

What time/time zone is my class? Why are 3 of my classes at the same time? What are clustered courses?

Sonis Time = Central Time Zone

  • All courses in Sonis are posted in CENTRAL TIME ZONE (AL, AR, LA, TN, TX).
If you’re in California, you must count back by 2 hours from the posted Sonis hours.
If you’re in Colorado, you must count back by 1 hour.

If you’re in Georgia, you must count forward 1 hour.

Clustered Classes?

Candidates will be enrolled in  4 or 5 classes total each semester. Clustered courses allow it will feel like 2 or 3 classes at a time. Clustered courses meet for five weeks, sequentially, and are shown as 5-week courses.

A four course semester may look like this:

What it may look like on your Sonis “Academic” → “Schedule” dashboard.

On Sonis, it shows up as:

A five course semester may look  like so:

On Sonis, it shows up as:

Candidates (except those in CA and TX) must register for your Praxis II subtest after each subject cluster semester.

See this scope & sequence for when!

If you see the same date and time for a similar subject matter course, this is likely not a scheduling error. It is a clustered set of classes as demonstrated above. However, if you see a different timing issue, please reach out to your dedicated advisor to request a solution. It’s usually a quick fix!
