How do I qualify for the Early Completion Option (ECO)?

The Early Completion Option (ECO) for the Intern Program is designed for candidates who demonstrate exceptional readiness, content mastery, and instructional proficiency at program entry. ECO provides an accelerated pathway that allows eligible interns to bypass standard coursework while receiving intensive, individualized support and coaching, consistent with commission-approved policies.

Participation in ECO is selective. In addition to being admitted into the university's Intern Credential program, candidates must meet all ECO-specific eligibility requirements, including passing the NES-APK and successful completion of a supplemental application that is available upon initial admission into the Intern Program. Candidates must maintain exceptional performance throughout the ECO period to remain in the pathway.
