How do I request a deferral from Reach University?
Reach candidates can defer their start date after acceptance. Below are instructions on how to request a deferral and the eligibility requirements.
Admitted students may request to defer their enrollment if unexpected personal, professional, or academic circumstances arise. Requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Candidates are permitted to defer their application up to one year from the original start date and term.
Deferment requests must be submitted by candidates before starting their first course, which includes non-matriculated/pre-service requirements. If a candidate begins a course and becomes a current attending candidate, they are no longer eligible for deferment and must go through the cancellation or withdrawal process. Upon deferring enrollment, the candidate’s tuition rate and admission requirements will be determined by the current rates and requirements at the time of matriculation. Deferred candidates will be required to complete an updated enrollment agreement to reflect the new start date and term.
Process for Candidates to Request a Deferment:
- (Candidate) Submits a Written Request/Case
The candidate submits a case through the candidate portal stating intent to defer. Be sure to include a brief explanation and preferred future start term.
- (Admissions) Review and Decision
The Admissions and Enrollment team will review the deferment request and notify the candidate of the decision. Response times may vary.
- Confirm Future Enrollment
If approved, the candidate will receive instructions to confirm their new start term. Additional documentation, including a new enrollment agreement, will be required upon their return. Tuition rates and admission requirements will be determined by the current rates and requirements at the time of matriculation.
