I want to apply to the BA-LS Reach program, but my school or district does not have a partnership or MOU with Reach. What can I do?

If you are interested in applying to a Reach University program but your school, employer, or district does not have an active partnership or MOU, you can use the sample language below to send them an email. If you have additional questions, please email Partnerships@Reach.edu.

Dear [Superintendent/HR Lead],

I’m writing to share that I have applied to Reach University’s Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (BA in Liberal Studies), and to ask for your support to address an employer requirement from my university. The degree is an accredited, job-embedded program that is designed for paraprofessionals and classified staff in PreK–12 education. Please click here for more information. The apprenticeship model will allow me to earn my bachelor’s degree, and ultimately a teaching credential, while continuing to work in our district supporting our students.

As part of the program requirements, I will work with learners in an academic setting for at least 15 hours per week. To support this, Reach University requires a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with my employer. This agreement ensures alignment throughout my time in the program.

The MOU with the district is a requirement for my enrollment. It must be reviewed and signed by an authorized representative from the district, typically the Superintendent, HR Lead, or other district leader. There are no financial commitments or minimum candidate requirements included—it is simply a partnership agreement to support my participation and success as I work toward becoming a teacher.

Reach University has likely been in touch with the district or will reach out soon to begin this process. You can also contact them directly by emailing partnerships@reach.edu.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I truly appreciate your support as I take this next step in my professional journey.

Sincerely,
