I want to obtain a Clear Teaching Credential. Where do I start?
The induction program is job-embedded and is focused on mentoring and support of the candidate's growth in the California Standards of the Teaching Profession (CSTP). Once TIP candidates successfully complete all program and CTC requirements, they earn a Clear Teaching Credential.
Candidates have the option of choosing between two pathways to obtain a
Clear Teaching Credential:
- Traditional Two-Year Pathway
- Early Completion Option (ECO): an accelerated 1-year program for exceptional teachers

- Fall: Reach 325A - Inquiry Into Pedagogy (2 units)
- Spring: Reach 335A - Inquiry Into Universal Access (2 units)
Year 2
- Fall: Reach 325B - Inquiry Into Pedagogy (2 units)
- Spring: Reach 335B - Inquiry Into Universal Access (2 units)

What is the structure of the Teacher Induction Program (TIP)?
The Reach Teacher Induction Program (TIP) is a distance learning, job-embedded, two-year program that is focused on extensive support and mentoring to new teachers in their first and second year of teaching.
Candidates are paired with an experienced TIP Mentor within 30 days of their enrollment in the program. The TIP Mentor provides an average of not less than one hour per week of individualized mentoring/support to the candidate (a minimum of 30 hours required each year) as the candidate completes Inquiry for Equity Cycles focused on equitable outcomes based on the needs of the students they are serving.
