TOP 5 HABITS of Reach Candidates who graduate ON TIME!

Your education matters to us, and we’re here to help you stay on track! Check out these top 5 healthy habits.

#1 - Have a time management PLAN!   yaniv-knobel-2YWS62tLATA-unsplash

Did you know that time management is the number one reason why a candidate earns passing grades? It’s not talent; it’s having a plan.

Watch this time management slide deck and use this template to make your plan!

#2 - See deadlines as deadlines, not suggestions towfiqu-barbhuiya-bwOAixLG0uc-unsplash

Sure, life happens, so extensions can be granted from time-to-time, but extensions are not meant to be permanent. Why? Completing assignments on time gives your brain a chance to learn the material and improve your professional craft. Show up to your next class ready to contribute!

Note: Professors are not obligated to extend deadlines; it's up to their discretion just as it is up to your discretion with K12 students.

#3 - Communicate with professors & your advisor william-hook-9e9PD9blAto-unsplash

If you are struggling – mental health, a family emergency, a personal crisis, falling behind in classes, or maybe you’re not sure but something feels off – please contact your advisor ASAP. Do not wait until the last few weeks of the semester. It may be too late! Getting support at week 4, rather than week 14, leads to greater outcomes.

Timing is essential. Sound familiar? Re-read #2.

#4 -  Attend classchris-montgomery-smgTvepind4-unsplash

Just as completing assignments is essential to academic success, attending class is also key. Participating in class also helps you learn and process each course’s content and shows the professor that you’re invested in your learning.

#5 -  Make college a priority; read this guideunseen-studio-s9CC2SKySJM-unsplash

Rarely does anyone succeed in a business, in a job, or a relationship half-hearted. The same goes for college. You can’t half-heart college.

Reach out to your advisor with questions or if you’d like additional support!
