What if I need an extension that goes beyond the last day of the cluster course or semester?

The below information applies to candidates with an accommodation for extended deadlines (2-7 days.) If you do not have this accommodation, you can disregard this information.

Please note the clarifying language that has recently been added to this accommodation:

  • Flexible deadline for extensions (two to seven days); upon receiving the assignment due date, we strongly recommend that the candidate initiate a discussion with the faculty to determine an agreed-upon extension. Extensions must be discussed and agreed upon well in advance of the due date.

If you request an extension from your instructor that would extend the due date beyond the last day of the CLUSTER COURSE (3 courses w/ the same professor & time) or the semester - and the instructor approves this request - the following process will be followed.

  • Your instructor will complete an Incomplete Request Form on your behalf.
  • Your instructor will send you the form to sign.
  • The signed form will then be sent to the Registrar.
  • Canvas will remain open, and an “I” for “incomplete” will serve as a placeholder for your grade until you submit your work, and a final grade can be given a week or so after your final submission

Please note: Incomplete Request Forms must be submitted before the final day of the course, so please be sure you are communicating well in advance with your instructor when you need to request an extension.

If you are unsure if your accommodations include extensions, please email access@reach.edu to request a copy of your letter.
