What is CAS 50?

CAS 50: College Preparation & Professionalism

COURSE REQUIREMENT FOR ALL CANDIDATES

Please note: Your CAS50 date is based on when you submitted your Enrollment Agreement.

CAS 50 is a foundational course that supports candidates in their transition into Reach University. This course covers:

  • Discussions around teacher effectiveness, realistic goals and responsibilities of teachers, and how to develop skills to become a great teacher
  • Provide hands-on activities for time management skills
  • Introduction to academic writing and APA citation
  • Understand the rigors of college work and learn new strategies to read effectively
  • Discussions around why a growth mindset is important for learning and successful relationship building in college and the workplace
  • Discuss how to leverage resources at Reach (advisors, professors, tutoring, library services)

Quick Note

This course must be passed to move forward with any degree program. 

CAS 50 is required for all new candidates. It is typically a two-week course, two weeknights per week (Monday & Wednesday or Tuesday & Thursday). The course is accessed via Canvas
