Why do I need to submit an official college transcript for the Intern Teacher Credential Program offered through Alternatives in Action?
Admission Checklist and Program Requirements: Steps to join the Intern Teacher Credential Program offered through Alternatives in Action.
Completion of at least a Bachelor’s degree:
To be eligible for the Intern Teacher Credential Program, applicants must have earned a bachelor's or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution. By having a bachelor’s degree, this will satisfy the Basic Skills Requirement. The California Education Code mandates that all credentialed educators demonstrate basic proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics. This ensures consistency and accountability across all public schools.
Grade Point Average (GPA) Requirement:
Applicants for admission should have attained a grade point average of at least 2.75 either overall or in the last 60 semester units or 90 quarter units (either undergraduate or graduate school). Generally, the GPA calculation on the college or university transcript will be accepted.
