Wellbeing is a state of wholeness with yourself and your values. Rather than being fixed, wellbeing is pursued and experienced over a lifelong journey of exploration and discovery.
- Feeling mentally, emotionally, and socially healthy and fulfilled
- Developing self-awareness and self-regulation
- Practicing self-care and self-compassion when needed
- Being and feeling connected to others
- Maintaining healthy boundaries between work and personal lives
- Understanding one’s locus of control and taking steps to create change
- Forming strong, relationships to help us cope with challenges
- Staying connected to one’s purpose and reason for being in this profession
As educators and counselors, we also know that our sense of purpose and engagement within communities can be deeply fulfilling, and yet, we give so much of ourselves to others that we don't prioritize our own wellbeing.
