I want to obtain a Preliminary Teaching Credential, where do I start?

Start Your Teaching Journey: Flexible Credentialing with Job-Embedded Experience

The Intern Program is a job-embedded teacher credentialing program. Once Intern candidates successfully complete all program and CTC requirements, they earn Preliminary Teaching Credential in the subject area of their choice. They can also add a Masters of Arts in Teaching
degree to their program of study.

Candidates have the option of choosing between two pathways to obtain a
Preliminary Teaching Credential:

  • Traditional two-year pathway (has a Master of Arts in Teaching option).
  • Early Completion Option (ECO), an accelerated 1-year program for experienced teachers
